Floodplain management and green infrastructure (Ecosystem based adaptation)
The measure reduces the impacts of and exposure to extreme flooding events or other climate impacts and increases the adaptability of ecosystems to climate change. Ecosystem based adaptation can increase climate resilience as wells as biodiversity conversation. Floodplains can serve as retention areas during flood events. Green infrastructure are e.g. ecological corridors or green urban adaptation measures.
