Forest rehabilitation and sustainable forest management
Improved forest management under climate change will depend on the current state of the forest and expected conditions with the overall aim being to increase resilience of forests against increased temperatures, pests and diseases and other extreme events. Activities can include operations such as: reduced impact logging, appropriate management of tree density and species composition, altering forest structures to reduce risk and extent of disturbances. Furthermore, forest rehabilitation and afforestation can increase the climate resilience of forests.
